SECURE 2.0 permits employers to provide retirement plan matches based on employees' qualified student loan payments rather than simply on account of employees' elective deferrals. This session will cover details of the student loan match under SECURE 2.0 and match models for employers to consider, as well as a brief overview of Aviben’s new student loan match administration service.

As General Counsel of Aviben, Trent Pepper (J.D., MBA) oversees the company’s legal affairs and leads various process improvement and business initiatives. Prior to joining Aviben, Trent served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of one of the nation’s largest nonprofit senior living providers, worked as an attorney in private practice, and clerked on the Minnesota Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
